THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY
WHY DID CHRIST CHANGE WATER INTO WINE?
May 7, 2015
WELCOME: From the ends of the World, as Christians we
have the Breastplate of righteousness, and the Helmet of salvation. Our only
defensive weapon is the Sword of the Spirit, which is THE WORD OF GOD, like a
two-edged sword. We’re talking real
business here, that we know who we are and what warfare we are in as
Christians today.
OPENING PRAYER: Lord, prepare our hearts to receive
you as we bless your Holy Name. Let us also bless one another and pray for
those who are chronically ill, disabled, bed-ridden, or otherwise unable to
make it to church or Bible Study.
OPENING SONGS: To show us how much we need God, and
how helpless we are without God. Take us away to your world, dear Lord, above
the songs, above the miracles, above this life and into the life beyond. Let us
Believe in You more and more each day.

BIBLE STUDY: John 2:1-11
1.
And on the third
day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there;
2.
And Jesus also
was invited, and His disciples, to the wedding.
3.
And when the wine
gave out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4.
And Jesus said to
her, “Woman, what do I have to do with you? My hour has not yet come.”
5.
His mother said
to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
6.
Now there were
six stone waterpots set there for the Hewish custom of purification, containing
twenty or thirty gallons each.
7.
Jesus said to
them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
8.
And He said to
them “Draw some out now, and take it to the headwaiter.” And they took it to
him.
9.
And when the
headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it
came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter
called the bridegroom,
10.
And said to him,
“Every man serves the good wine first, and when men have drunk, then that which
is poorer; you have kept the good wine until now.”
11.
This beginning of
His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His
disciples believed in Him.
DISCUSSION: Only the Savior’s love can make us strong.
He turned water into wine. And through the huge embarrassment of the bridegroom
not having enough wine for the guests, Jesus knew how, on a human level, it was
a significant part of the ceremony. Weddings lasted one week back then. People
travelled for days, and the celebration lasted for a week. This is a disastrous
problem for the bridegroom.
But Christ was Lord. He is Lord. His mother pushed Him
to perform this miracle. Why did she do it now? Why did it have to be at this
wedding? And why did her will and Christ’s obedience to His mother’s will
occur, after He told her to get away from Him?
And why did He call her, “Woman” instead of ,”Mother?”
Wasn’t that disrespectful? Was that frustration? Fear? Why didn’t He just walk
away?
It was because His Ministry was destined to begin at
that moment, and the blessed Mary saw that. She pleaded with Christ, but she
also knew that He would obey her. So she ignored what Christ said, and told the
servants to go get the water vaults and fill them with water and then take them
to Him. And by the time all the water was in, and carried over to the Lord,
don’t you think that the Lord prayed to God? Don’t you think He accepted that
what His mother was telling Him to do was from God, and not from her alone? And
Our Lord asked for a miracle.
This story is not about whether or not it is okay to
drink wine, although Christ ate fish and bread also, for nutrition. This story
is about ....obedience and miracles. The miracle was done out of obedience. The
symbolism of the water turned to wine was why?
Because Christ’s red blood was to be the blood of the
sacrificial lamb, poured out for all people to be forgiven of their sins and
access God directly. Jesus knew the wine was not average wine. The Master of
the Ceremony asked, “Why did you save the best wine for last?” It was the best
red wine that one could ever drink to quench an unquenchable thirst!
And Christ would be the one to fulfill the purpose of
Christ’s life on earth. This was His first miracle, and I believe that it
wasn’t about the wine or the water. It was a visual sign for people to see with
their eyes, yet it signified much more. Who was amongst the people? Who else
was invited with Christ to the wedding?
His
disciples. His disciples saw the miracle and tasted the wine and saw this first
miracle. The Bible tells us that after this, they believed. If Christ needed
disciples to follow Him, he needed disciples that believed in Him and his
miracles, right? Christ knew that His fate was before him. It was about being
reborn by His own blood, the blood that He knew He would shed. and I also believe that while the crowds were
drinking happily, the human Christ was scared of this new day for Him, and that
is why he chastised his mother in irritation. This was the beginning of His
ministry.
The weak would be made strong. The blind would be
given vision. The lame would be made to walk.
The lepers were to be healed. The dead would arise and become alive
again. All in the Savior’s love, as He is Lord of all! We commit everything we
are to you, Jesus.
As we celebrate life, the marriage of a man and woman,
we can drench ourselves in the Lord and surrender all that we are to Him.
DONATIONS: As the Lord impresses you to give to the
orphans and the needy, please sock away your change in a shoebox or a can, and
get it ready to send. Ask Pastor Steven
Mwesigwa directly for arranging a donation directly to him. Thank you Jesus, for
we can help.
DONATION SONGS:
5. “Water to
Wine” by Michael Cochren
Stop song at its end.
Heal our hearts, oh Lord.
Turn water to wine; transform my life.
Get rid of this pain and lift off my strife.
Take all that I am and make it what it was.
Heal this heart of mine.
Turn water to wine.
6. “Our God, Water Turned into Wine” by Tom Field
Our God is healer, awesome in power.
With man, this is impossible, but with God, all things
are possible (Matthew 19:26)
CLOSING PRAYER by Kirstie Louise:
Dear Lord,
As we bow our heads and put our hands
together we pray for the children, men and women in Nepal as all the services
are arriving there all days to help with the damage that the earthquake has
done and to rescue all trapped. We also keep praying for the children, women
and men in Africa that they receive shelter and food, clothes and to heal them
from the horrible disease. In Jesus's name we pray, Amen!
DO YOU KNOW WHY JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS: If you would like
further guidance or understanding on taking a walk with Christ in your life
from now on, please stay behind for me. Put briefly, this is what Christ knew
that He would bear, for the good of all of us sinners, so that we can be saved
and have access to the Mighty King, God. Viewer discretion advised.
7. “We are the Reason” by Evelyn Zoe
And He knew it would all be worth it: All the
Suffering, the beatings, the Carrying of the Cross, the Crucifixion.
8. “How Great Thou Art” with Carrie Underwood and
Vince Gill
DISMISSAL: Go with God in your hearts, your minds,
your souls, and your actions and words. Let unnecessary things go. Ask yourself
what Jesus would do. Live for Him, and not for yourself. Let Him change your
life. Open your mouth to argue with
someone, and then just think of Christ and the love He wants us to have for one
another. Then close your mouth, and do not return evil for evil. That is the
way of the Lord.

Will you Give All You Have to Serve the

Lord, prepare our hearts to receive you as we Bless

1. “Bless the
Lord” by Matt Redman
Stop song at its end. As we bless the Lord, let us
also bless one another and pray for those who are chronically ill, disabled,
bed-ridden, or otherwise unable to make it to church or Bible Study.
Teach us, dear Lord, how Majestic you are, and let us
trust in You to Save us from all evil. Open our eyes to this Revelation. We
want to see you in all that we do. Help us, Lord, to desire to please you
always:
2. “Open the Eyes of my Heart” by Michael W. Smith
PRAYER REQUESTS: For the lost and forgotten, whom we
remember today and serve to inspire to rejoice in learning your Word, dear
Lord. Let them feel part of our family, and let them learn who they really are
in Jesus Christ. Amen.
Please keep putting up requests as we sing praises to
the Lord.
PRAYER REQUESTS: Let us bow down our heads in silent
prayer to hear your voice, dear Lord, as we give ourselves away to you, so that
You can use me.
I take my dreams, my heart, my plans, and I place them
in your hands:

SCRIPTURE READING & BIBLE STUDY: THE
TESTIMONY OF JOHN
We started at The Beginning, Chapter
One, and are now on John 1: 40 – 51.
40. One of the two who heard John speak, and gollowed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41. He found first his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messian” (which translated means Christ). 42. He brought him to Jesus, Jesus, Jesus looked at himand said, “You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas” (which translated means Peter). 43. The next day He purposed to go forth into Galilee, and He found Philip and Jesus said said to hi, “Follow Me.” 44. Now Philip wa from Bethesaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter. 45. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46. And Nathanael sid th him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47. Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him and said of him, “Behold, and Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!” 48. Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49. Nathanael answered Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel.” 50. Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater thing than these.” 51. and He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you shall see the heavens opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” Blessed be the Word of the Lord.
SUMMARY: Jesus walked
from city to city, picking out his disciples as if picking the right apples
from a tree. Notice that some, like Nathanael, believed Jesus was the prophet
because He noticed him under the fig tree, and he thought, “What a great
thing!” This is after Nathanael had questioned whether anything good could come
out of Nazareth, and Christ answered him by calling him an Israelite.
Expect persecution
from your family and friends. Am I right? They grew up with you, knew you as a
brother, knew you as a sister, until.....and you are just an ordinary person to
them. That could change, but don’t be surprised if they think you went bonkers.
CONCLUSION: Blessed
are they who believe without seeing, and blessed are those to whom God shows Himself
unto. May we not be blind to the homeless Angels, to the strangers we give our
coins to, for they may be masked as Christ Himself. And if it takes a “sign”
for one to believe in God, dear Lord, Show them that sign so that they are
saved for eternity. And of all of us who die to ourselves and live for Christ,
may we never deny Him. May we be proud of Our Lord. Let us not deny Him, or He
will deny us to the Father. Get
everything that is not of Christ out of our lives, so that we surrender all,
and live for him.
DONATIONS: We take
time to help the widows and the orphans, leaving our material possessions as if
we never had them. For we know that it is by Your Grace, dear Lord, that we
ourselves are not the homeless and the orphans and the poor. Deliver us from
evil, forgive us our human nature and sins. We offer our tithe to you to help
the less fortunate. May our hearts always be compassionate to them.
PRAISE & WORSHIP SONGS:
5. Do you
think that everything you need is in Christ?
6. Have
you decided to follow Jesus?
“I
Surrender”: by Hillsong Live
7. Is the
Lord Holy to us? Is your name written
down in the Book of Life?
“Your Name is Holy – I Enter the Holy of Holies” by
Paul Wilbur
CONCLUSION: Realize that at any moment, you could be
taken up to Heaven through death, and you “can’t take anything when you go.”
Try to live your life as a Christian not hording storage containers of “stuff,”
but make yourselves ready for the Coming of the Christ. The body of Christ is
the Bride of Christ, and the Bride gets herself ready and makes herself perfect
for Him. Let us try to do the same. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Go and ponder these things, in the name of Christ. If
everything we have is of Christ, how many times do we need to give to our
fellow man and woman, who have no shoes? Go and make this world a better place!
Follow Him~ and leave everything behind! Amen!
8. Who was Jesus?
“King of Glory”
9. Why did Christ die for you?
“Love Song” by Third Day
DISMISSAL: Go unto all the world, all the peoples, and proclaim Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Stay with me or message me if you would like to accept
Christ into your life.

and inspiring. The introduction says: “Our service is our worship, and we look
to the Cross of Jesus for strength, hope, peace, and healing.”
1. Third Day: Cry out to Jesus
“And to all of the People with burdens and pains
keeping you back from your life. You believe there is nothing and there is no
one that can make it right.
There is help for the hopeless, rest for the weary, love
for the broken heart. There is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing. He’ll
meet you wherever you are. Cry Out to Jesus.“
PRAYER REQUESTS:
PRAISE & WORSHIP SONGS:
1. Why are
we gathered here today?
2. What
makes us glorify God? His Holiness.

Glorious
Day (Living He loved me) by Casting Crowns
PRAYER REQUEST: I ask that the people listen with
their hearts and not their ears, dear Lord, and are doers of the Word and not
just hearers of the Word. Let us go forward from here, watching every word we
say, holding Christ’s hand always.
SCRIPTURE READING & BIBLE STUDY: THE
TESTIMONY OF JOHN
We started at The Beginning, Chapter
One, and are now on John 1: 35 – 39.
John Chapter One (John’s Disciples)
35: Again the next day, John was standing with two of
his disciples,
36: and he looked upon Jesus as He walked and said,
“Behold, the Lamb of God!”
37: And the two disciples heard him speak, and they
followed Jesus.
38. And Jesus turned, and beheld them following, and
said to them, “What do you seek?” And they said to Him, ”Rabbi (which
translated means Teacher), where are You staying?”
39. He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” They
came therefore and saw where He was staying; and they stayed with Him that day,
for it was about the tenth hour.
SUMMARY: Verse 37. The two disciples heard Christ
speak. What did He do? Christ turned to
the disciples and told them to follow Him. What would you do?
They simply followed Him. Think about that. Think of
what must have been in their hearts and souls to overpower their logic.
What would we do? Would we argue? Pontificate? Stutter
excuses? Worry about what we are leaving behind? Or would we just GO?
BIBLE STUDY CONCLUSION: We need to learn to be simple,
to leave room for Christ. Does that make
sense to you?
PRAYER REQUEST:
DONATION: As I play the next song, Just listen and
meditate on God’s Word. Put your pennies and $1 bills into a jar or empty
coffee can. Let it multiply so that we may continue to bless the orphans, serve
the widows, and heal the broken-hearted with our prayers through you, Dear
Jesus. Take this time to Personal Message Pastor Mwesigma, as children still
need vaccinations. Can’t we do that?
We can’t each go physically to Africa, but we can help
in The Great Commission to spread God’s Word and show the love of Jesus. As
shown in the photo above, it is not me that they thank. It is each of you who
gives. They know I represent a ministry, and may our ministry grow stronger and
mightier and more blessed day by day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
DONATION SONG:
“Need You Now” by Plumb
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ylnx0NA9X4
CLOSING SONG:
“Soul on Fire” by Third Day
DISMISSAL:
Go in peace to love and serve
the Lord. Let Him remain present in your mind at all times, doing your best to
love and serve Him as He directed, “...for the greatest of these is love.” In
Jesus’ Name, Amen.

...” 19 This is the
testimony of John, when the Jews
sent to him priests and Levites from
Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” 20 And he
confessed and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the
Christ.” 21 They
asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?”
And he *said, “I am not.” “Are you the
Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”...
22 Then
they said to him, “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent
us? What do you say about yourself?” 23 He said, “I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of
the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”
DISCUSSION: Paul’s Recovery: A True Story
Video: Who are we? Why are we here? Why does God still
need you alive here on earth? This is a true story, and why does it still “fit”
today? We pray, Lord, that we are the givers, the ones with the money, will
find in our hearts to forgive, rather than to be forgiven.

And ask we walk away, or pull our blankets up to
rest, let us remember: Jesus has an intimate, ultimate love for each one of us.
Many would give gold and treasures for this love.
But just to be with you,
Christ would climb mountains and He would stand on the raging waters of a
storm. He has nothing left to prove to you. You need to accept His mercy.
He would have suffered and died on the cross if it was only for you.

BIBLE STUDY THURSDAY
April 2, 2015
WELCOME TO EASTER SUNDAY! A day to rejoice in the purity of who Christ was and still is today! I AM THE THIEF, THE ONE OF TWO PEOPLE WHO HUNG ON MY OWN CROSS AT THE TIME JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED AND KILLED FOR BEING THE SON OF GOD. HE DID NOTHING WRONG, BUT WE TWO, THE OTHERS THAT WERE HANGING, WE DESERVED OUR PUNISHMENT. I KNOW PARADISE IS COMING SOON FOR ME, AS THE LORD TOLD ME THAT, AND I BELIEVE HIM.“

THE LAST SUPPER – ARABIC TRANSLATION
And after dinner, we find in Matthew 26:36 (the Garden of Gethsemane): Then Jesus “came with us to a place called Gethsamane, and *said to His Disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” Christ also knew that Judas’ love of money was having its time, as He was being betrayed at that moment when Judas kissed him on the cheek.

DISCUSSION:
PRAYER REQUESTS: As first, we come to you for forgiveness, patience, tolerance, and love for Our Dear Lord. And may I learn to live as if I too, am going to Paradise to be with you forever.
PRAYER REQUESTS: As first, we come to you for forgiveness, patience, tolerance, and love for Our Dear Lord. And may I learn to live as if I too, am going to Paradise to be with you forever.
DONATIONS: Have been very disappointing, and there’s no other way to say it. Children are starving. Malaria and Typhoid Fever continue to run rampant, and NONE of the other children have received vaccines, only the TWO that were sickest and hospitalized. Their hospital bills ate up the donations that God saw you gave.
Let us pray for a miracle of donations to come for these children, who smile and laugh so easily, dear Lord. This is the first time I’m sending money for food instead of for Clothing for Easter dresses. Do you remember getting an Easter dress each Easter? Lord, Let us pray on one accord that people will go go Pastor Steven Mwesigma on Facebook, in order to send him MG American dollars personally. Give them hope. Give them joy. Do not let them feel alone. They are not alone and sometimes the answer to their questions lies in us, the people.
CLOSING SONGS:
Third Day- Burn for You
Continue to worship and praise God, pray for our orphans, pray for Amy Cole and Hazel Hope, Jay, and so many others that we lift up before you, dear Lord.
We know that our songs come up to you as a sweet smell, like that of a flower, of a bouquet of flowers, and let our songs be truly pleasing to you. Let all that hath breath sing Your Mighty Worship. Let us find our Strength in the shadow of your name. Show yourself to us, and to those around us, Lord. Let us find our strength in the shadow of your hand. In Jesus’ name, let us lift you up, and lift one another up before you, dear Lord.
DISMISSAL: Go with God and let Him stay with you now and forevermore. Continue to listen to third Day, as we rejoice on Sunday at 1 pm, when you rose from the dead, dear Lord!!!!

BIBLE STUDY Palm Sunday, March 29, 2015
WELCOME: Welcome! Today is Palm Sunday, a day to rejoice in the
purity of who Christ was and still is today! He was given a grand reception
before all the people, and he rode on a donkey, humble yet as King of all
Kings! Let us praise Him in song as we pray that anyone with any limitations,
illnesses, or ailments is healed during this service. Why? So that we may go
out and Spread the Good News of Christ, of course!
OPENING SONGS:
Song 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMKNbLd0dfg
After this song, more songs continue automatically to play. Feel free to come
back later to watch more
SCRIPTURE: The Bible verse for today comes from 1 John:12-13
"I
am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His
name's sake." "I am writing to you, fathers because you know Him who
has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have
overcame the evil one. I have written you children, because you know the
Father."
DISCUSSION:
PRAYER REQUESTS: FORGIVENESS is first. We do not come to the Father and ask Him for something
if we harbor resentment, jealousy, anger, hatred, or bitterness against our
brother or sister. We ask the Lord to release us of all bitterness, and to
change our hearts so they are softened by forgiveness. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Now we humbly ask these prayers of you,
knowing that we do not just come to you when we want something. We have an
ongoing relationship with you, and we pray to you, give you glory, and listen
to your still, small voice. Amen! Can I get an Amen out there?
DONATIONS: Our Sister Church is Hope & Joy Ministries
with Pastor Steven Mesigwa and his orphans, two of which I have adopted. As you
bless us, dear Lord, let us bless them for typhoid vaccines still needed, as
one child was hospitalized and all donations went for the hospital bill. Let us
be in direct contact with him so he can purchase food for these 36 orphans, who
need to be on a soft diet so they keep nutrition in their bodies. We ask for
your divine intervention, Lord. During
this time, please ‘Friend’ Pastor Steve, and start working your way towards
uplifting these children. It is a passionate plea. I pray that you do not let
my words or my prayer underestimate the great need that we can fill. Help us, Lord.

SONG 3 – Amen. We are the Children of God, and let us

“I
Surrender”, by Hillsong Love
SCRIPTURE: John 14-18
14. And the Word became flesh
and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from
the Father, full of grace and truth.
15. John bore witness of Him,
and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who cones after me has
a higher rank than I, for He existed
before me.’”
16. For of His fullness we
have all received, and grace upon grace.
17. For the Law was given
through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
18. No man has seen God at
any time; the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has
explained Him.
SUMMARY:
When the Word became flesh, this is when Jesus became man. And in Verse 16, we
see that the people of the New Testament did not just receive Jesus’ fullness,
but they had grace upon grace: grace
piled upon grace in their Christian life. The O.T. grace was only that of a
candlelight, compared the brightness of grace that Christ exhibited at the
reincarnation. As we head into Palm Sunday, we take hold of that grace, trying
to grasp its depth & width, and its application to our lives. Grace is what
leads us to accept Christ. Grace shines upon our Salvation, faith, and
spiritual gifts.
And note that John the
Baptist was a wanderer, a nomad who lived in the desert eating locusts and
beeswax. A social outcast, the people listened to his great words indeed!
CONCLUSION: God’s love never fails.
DONATIONS: Sit back, let the music
minister to your soul, and know that God is still the God of Miracles.
We “pass the basket” to Pastor
Steven Mwesigwa in Kampala, Uganda, and his 36 orphans who have typhoid fever
spreading through the camp. One child is hospitalized, vomiting blood. Funding
is needed so these children can eat a soft food diet, one they have no money
for. As we listen and pray for a miracle
in the lives of the orphans and those who are here and on our Prayer List. Let
us also pray that God shows Himself to us throughout our daily lives. In
giving, we acknowledge Him as Lord of Lords and King of Kings, worthy of
worship.
SONG 4: DONATION SONG
“I Need a Miracle” – by Third Day, and listen also to
the 2nd song afterwards. Someone needs to hear this, and we are
giving it to this person. Pray for the depressed, those thinking of suicide,
those who are lost, and may we be there to recognize when they need us. Send
them to us, Lord. We contact Pastor
Steven Mwsigwa individually for donations to the Ministry of Hope & Joy for
orphans.
Oceans.
PRAYER REQUESTS: You teach us to first ask for our own
forgiveness before praying, Lord. Please forgive us of our sins. Forgive me if
I have some ill feelings toward ______; let me forgive in my heart. Free me of
that bondage that only stunts my closeness to you. Thank you, Lord. Give us a
relationship with you, a two-way street. Talk to us as we listen.
PRAYER REQUEST: Lord, I ask
for you to bring us all closer to you, to trust and have faith in you, to
rejoice in your love for us, and for showing yourself to us in our lives. Help
us know who is hiding a deep depression behind their smiles, Lord, lead us to
the lost sheep who need you, and thank you for being our Miracle that we
witness today.
CLOSING SONGS:
Third Day: Soul on Fire
DISMISSAL: Go
in peace, letting the love of God flow from your heart like a river. Be not
ashamed of Our Lord, who suffered for our very souls. Try to bear your own
crosses as He did. Strive to do more each day.
DISMISSAL SONG: Are you ashamed of God? Would you sing on a
street corner? Or would you sing on a stage with 10,000 people before you?
Watch these two versions, one after the other, and ask yourself, “Am I telling
others of God’s love?”
“Your Love is Like a River,” – Third Day
"Love thy neighbor as thyself."
