"Act Now to Support First National Strategic Plan for Pain!

This is crucial for people with pain          GO HERE TO SIGN PETITION!!!   MAY 20 DEADLINE!!

We are at a crucial time in history for people with pain. The very first national strategic plan to advance pain research, education and treatment—The National Pain Strategy (NPS)—has been released for public comment for a short period of time. More than ever, your voice is needed NOW to make sure that the NPS is changed from words on a page to a reality for the millions of Americans who urgently need improved pain care and treatment!   GO HERE TO SIGN PETITION!!!
There are 17 consumer organizations working together as part of the Consumer Pain Advocacy Task Force to make sure the National Pain Strategy will benefit all people affected by pain.
The next step in this process is to urge the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to develop a federal oversight body now, so that HHS can quickly begin working on the plan as soon as it is finalized and released!   GO HERE TO SIGN PETITION!!!   MAY 20 DEADLINE!!

Dear Drs. Jones and Parekh,         GO HERE TO SIGN PETITION!!!   MAY 20 DEADLINE!!
I am a person affected by chronic pain. [Please insert 1-2 sentences here summarizing how your health and quality of life has been impacted by chronic pain and the challenges experienced in obtaining quality medical care and effective treatment. Family members, friends & caregivers of those with pain, please insert 1-2 sentences here describing how your life has been impacted in caring for or supporting your loved one with pain.]
I appreciate the leadership of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health in developing the National Pain Strategy and for providing the public with the opportunity to review the Plan and submit feedback on it.
During this time, I urge the Office to dedicate needed resources and begin the important process of creating an oversight body, so that once the Plan is finalized and released, a coordinated launch can begin right away. I am also very concerned about where dollars to pay for the Plan will come from, and urge the Office to do its part in making future budget plans for HHS agencies.    Millions of Americans like me are counting on an improved state of pain care, education and research that is urgently needed and will result from this first-ever comprehensive plan and the hope that it provides for our futures.
Sincerely,                    GO HERE TO SIGN PETITION!!!   MAY 20 DEADLINE!!

THANKING YOU! BUT THANKING YOU IS LIKE THANKING YOURSELF FOR DOING SOMETHING THAT EVERY PATIENT WITH PAIN NEEDS! NOW SPREAD THE WORD!

P.S. PROFUSE APOLOGIES IF THE COMPUTER PICKED OUT THE COVER OF MY LATEST BOOK, WHICH IS ON WOMEN'S HEALTH. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO USE THE WHEELCHAIR. IT'S 3 AM AND I CAN'T CHANGE IT NOW, AS OUR POWER IS OFF AND LAPTOP IS ABOUT TO DIE. BUT CERTAINLY WOMEN HAVE PAIN AFTER ESSURE(R), HYSTERECTOMY, PMS, MENOPAUSE, PERI-MENOPAUSE, SO CLEARLY, THE NEED TO ADDRESS PAIN STILL APPLIES TO WOMEN. BUT I DID NOT PICK THE IMAGE FOR THE POST. PLEASE FORGIVE ME. DR. ARANDA

  1. I just wanted to say thank you for doing your part, I believe we all have a part to play in getting equal care with certain dignity when it comes to Pain Management. I am medically retired as a Law Enforcement Officer and a EMT last year I was shot during a security detail. I have learned first hand that being diagnosed with any for of Chronic Pain is more than just a disease it seems as if you get a sentence and a criminal profile to go with it. I now have a IT Pump Implanted as of 3 months ago its working perfectly 300x less needed in oral opioids daily makes me smile. I told my doctor if this works I would use my 30 years of experience to help educate and make a change in the Pain Management venue. So please look at www.chronicpainsociety.com it is a Internet Radio Station dedicated to Chronic Pain and education we put factual and verifiable information on the website and it is a place such as facebook.com where only people concerned with this subject can meet and greet. thank you again. anthonyrbaptista@gmail.com Tony

    1. Nice website; lots of places to go for linked information and specific subjects. Good for you! I know how hard it is to do a start-up but if it is your Calling and your Passion, the personality of the site reeks with that individuality. I very much like the site and have been a patient of chronic pain several different times in my life. Would love to join up with you as a Guest; hoping that will expand your reach just another notch more. We're all here to help one another and most importantly, the patients. I am pleased to call you my friends. Margaret Aranda, MD, PhD.
