It's All About You

by Margaret Aranda, M.D.

 Women Helping Women

This Reference Section is an abbreviated version of my compilation of helpful resources for girls, teens, women, and the Elderly. The Final Version will be in From Menarche to Menopause: A Journey Through Time, and it will contain websites, links, and pre-made Checklists. The book will cover everything from 11-year old girls getting their HPV Vaccination to stop cancer, putting in her first tampon, eating disorders, having a baby, miscarriage, anti-inflammatory diet, high-intensity interval training, postpartum depression, invisible diseases, becoming disabled, immunonutrition, menopause, ovarian conservation, hysterectomy, hormone replacement therapy, divorce, growing old, being a caregiver, looking for a nursing home or assisted living, needing a caregiver, and having an Advanced Directive and a Living Will. So that's the context here, so don't be offended if I list some 'strange' items that do affect women but may seem a little out of line at first. I mean to be all-inclusive because I've seen a need for it throughout my medical career.

Please review at your leisure and make suggestions for additions as you see fit. Be gentle on me, okay, as this was an arduous task for me, and I did it all from scratch.

I know there are many FaceBook groups with various important implications for Invisible Disabilities in particular, but I need to have a Phone Number attached to each entity. So if you are gearing up to step up a notch on being at the forefront of your diagnosis, now is the time for action. For the final book, I need to also have a website and hours of operation for your resource, especially if it will be a hotline. I want women to be able to pick up the phone and talk to a human being, because well, we need it and we deserve it.

So let's get on with making progress, and let's see where it takes us!
It's About Time.
Women helping Women.
